Michael Fredericson, MD, FACSM

Dr. Fredericson is Professor and Director of PM&R Sports Medicine in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Stanford University. He has served as a head team physician with the Stanford Sports Medicine Program since 1992 and has worked at both a national and international level with USA Track & Field.
Dr. Fredericson has been a featured speaker at numerous national and international sports medicine and rehabilitation symposiums. He has published over 135 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters focused on an improved understanding of overuse injuries in athletes.
He is a former member of the Editorial Board of Physician and Sports Medicine, former Associate Editor for the Clinical Journal of Sports Medicine, Senior Founding Editor for the PM&R Journal, and is on the Scientific Advisory Board, and frequent contributor to, Runner’s World magazine.
Dr. Fredericson is Fellowship Director for Stanford Sports Medicine and has received a variety of awards for his efforts to develop and foster musculoskeletal education and research for medical students, residents, fellows, and post-doctoral scholars.
