Optimizing Clinical Use of Biologics in Orthopaedic Surgery

New research published by AAOS and several TOBI Faculty suggests knee osteoarthritis has emerged as the condition with the most urgent need for clinical trial development. Several recommendations on communications for cell therapies, standards for products characterization and clinical research are detailed. In addition, recommendations for physicians and institutions offering biologic therapies commit to establishing high-quality patient registries and biorepository-linked registries that can be used for postmarket surveillance and quality assessments.

Congratulations AAOS and TOBI Faculty who contributed to this important new publication, including Constance R Chu MD, Johnny Huard PhD, Christian Lattermann MD, Bert Mandelbaum MD, Allan Mishra MD, Rocky Tuan PhD.
